Helping keep young people with additional needs walking

20 August 2020

The Tim Henman Foundation has helped keep young people with additional complex needs exercising and walking through the provision of walkers and motorised exercise equipment at Chailey Heritage School and Chadsgrove School.

At Chailey Heritage School it is fantastic to know that every young person has an individualised timetable which includes daily exercise using walkers and trikes, whilst supervised by their Teaching Assistant. Physical activity is a core part of each child’s curriculum, and with every child having very specific needs, the specialist walkers and trikes make a huge difference.

All pupils that attended school during lockdown used either a walker or trike (or both) regularly. All pupils who were shielding at home were offered the opportunity to borrow either or both for use at home.
