Our aim is to raise awareness and funds for children across London who are experiencing poverty.
The campaign opens on Tuesday 4th June at 12:00 and runs until 18th June. Thanks to TCL and the Childhood Trust, donations made up to our £60,000 target will be doubled.
Chances Create Change
London has the highest rate of child poverty in England with 700,000 (33%) of children in the capital living in poverty.
Chances – our fundraising will provide chances for youngsters experiencing poverty in London.
Create – with the funds raised we will create new programmes to give them the opportunities they need.
Change – the deserving youngsters we support will be able to take advantage and make a positive change.
Campaign target and outcomes
By reaching our target of £60,000, we will:
- Be able to increase our charitable activity by 16%.
- And deliver 12 new programmes.
- Reaching 800 children in poverty.

- Increase activity and educational opportunities for those experiencing poverty.
- Narrow the gap between poverty and disability.
- Enhance future prospects for children in poverty.

Our Programmes
- Community Activity Programme - Creating free, accessible and regular activity with further opportunities for young people so they can experience the benefits of sport.
- Inclusive Activity Programme - Creating free, accessible and inclusive activity for young people with special educational needs and disabilities so they can experience sport in a way that they enjoy and is relevant to them.
- Advancement Programme - Support for aspiring athletes who have a positive attitude and winning mindset but need extra support to progress to an elite/professional level.
- Opportunity Fund - funding extracurricular educational opportunities for students who require additional support.
- Career Path Programme - Training and educational opportunities to create a pathway to employability.
Poverty in the UK - the facts
- Relative poverty is defined as the percentage of people living in households with annual incomes below 60% of the median income that year. In 2022 that figure was £20,400.
- There were 4.3 million children living in poverty in the UK. That's nine in a classroom of 30.
- London has the highest rate of child poverty in England with 700,000 (33%) of children in the capital live in poverty.
